Sylvia Plath drawings

Drawings from the lovely and tragic-everybody dying around her- Sylvia Plath are being shown at the Mayors’ gallery in London. The drawings have of course the guaranteed genius of Sylvias’ mind, but are somehow inconsequential to me. A frozen quality to them. In any case, good energy from a turbulent spirit. Rest in peace if possible Sylvia.

On her son Nicholas’ birth: “this great bluish, glistening boy shot out onto the bed in a wave of tidal water that drenched all four of us to the skin, howling lustily”. Nicholas hanged himself. He was a salmon biologist.
